A visit with Kim and Nicole!

Kim and Nicole came down a couple of weeks ago to spend a nice long weekend with Kate and me! Blake and Will were off on a Boy Scout trip! We picked them up Thursday afternoon…..and started right out on our adventures! We decided to hit Abbot Kinney…..and on our way there we found a wonderful little garden shop in Venice.

We looked around in the shops….Kate and Nicole had fun catching up with each other.

The shops were so fun….very creative….and inspiring!

We found this AMAZING store FULL of beautiful cake stands….rows and…..

rows….piled to the ceiling! We got nervous with the girls in there…..one bump…..and everything would come crashing down. So we decided to have them wait out front for us!

I had heard about a restaurant called Lemonade…..we were so excited when we found it! DELICIOUS! I had Blueberry Mint Lemonade….and Kim had Ginger Mint Lemonade.

Kim and I tried several of their salads….so yummy! I had a rice salad with nectarines….an edamame salad….one with Israeli Couscous and mushrooms and the last was Arugula with blue cheese and beets!

Kate and Nicole had fun at their own table!

Friday we headed downtown for a marathon stroll thru Santee Alley. The girls found all kinds of jewelry, nail polish, hair accessories and trinkets. Here they are sporting their $5 purse purchases.

Tired….thirsty and hungry…..we stopped at Bottega Louie….my favorite downtown restaurant!

We had a yummy dinner in the bar……and of course a delicious glass of wine for the Mommies!

Saturday…..we hit some local thrift shops and antique malls.

The girls found their own way to amuse themselves! Here is a video they made while Kim and I were wandering around.

And then spent a happy couple of hours in a bead store in Huntington Beach! Since Kim and I like the same things and live far away from each other…..we decided to make the same earrings….so we could share supplies.

We came home played with our beads and then headed out to a VIP opening party for a new Vintage Clothing Store in our neighborhood. Here are the girls with Kim…trying on vintage sunglasses.

Sunday we woke up bright and early and spent many hours at the Long Beach Antique Flea Market at Vets. We were hot, tired and dirty…so headed to the nail salon for pedicures.

We spent the early evening at The Petroleum Club….Kim and I had cocktails while the girls swam.

It makes me so happy that our girls have as much fun hanging together and chatting as Kim and I do!

After the pool we took a drive thru Igor’s Alley in our neighborhood! We had a wonderful weekend.
